Creating More Than Beads

Non-Beady Things You Can Make with Glass

During the last 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of talking and interviewing hundreds of beadmakers. Most of us started out as jewelry designers and couldn’t find a bead we needed. We noticed glass beads and realized we could make our own! Many times, we left jewelry design and concentrated on beadmaking.

But sometimes we either got tired of making beads or we needed new inspiration, so we skipped the mandrel and picked up different techniques along the way. Many beadmakers have shared their tips and techniques as tutorials, but there is more way to “skin a cat,” so to speak! Here is my list of other items you can create with glass.

Please note: I haven’t done all these, but included links to tutorials or inspiration for you, if you’re interested. Please let me know if the links don’t work.
